The Boutique Hotel Palacio is a beautiful
colonial hotel located in the center of the Colonial Zone of
Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The hotel is a beautiful

Boutique was a house owned by Buenaventura Baez (1812-1884), a
Dominican politician who was president of the Dominican Republic
five times, between the years 1849 to 1878.

Baez apparently did not live in this house, but his sons and
grandchildren did. One of them was Dr. Ramon Baez, who was also
elected president of the Dominican Republic in 1914.
